Cherry

The writing of Cherry began when an opportunity opened up to submit new writing to be performed as part of the Exeter University Term 3 Drama Festival in 2023. The show was performed to two sold-out audiences and had an overwhelming reception, which encouraged us to pursue the project and bring the story to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024.
We had a second local run of the show as part of Exefest 2024, followed by a successful run at Fringe. The show encapsulates the experience of finding yourself and your people at university with an asexual character at its helm.

Birthday

Birthday is an exploration of life, bonds, grief, joy and support experienced when emerging into adulthood. It is a contemporary play following a group of friends over the course of a year as they each celebrate their birthdays.
The play celebrates the love of friendship throughout different circumstances. The show performed successfully at the Exeter University T3 Drama Festival in 2024.

Sparks

The Fruitful Productions team performed a first scratch of a new work in progress, titled Sparks. The performance pieced three scenes of an early script idea, aiming to showcase the aromantic and asexual experience within a world that centres around relationships.
Whilst further development of the script was put on hold as the company pursued other projects, we are excited to be returning to the script early next year to continue development.
